Orthodontics
Gables iSmile and Miami iSmile believe that a beautiful, healthy smile starts with proper alignment. Whether you’re looking to straighten your teeth for cosmetic reasons or to improve your oral health, our orthodontic treatments can help you achieve your desired results.

What is Orthodontics?
Orthodontics is a specialized branch of dentistry that focuses on diagnosing, preventing, and treating misaligned teeth and jaw irregularities. Through various orthodontic treatments, including braces and aligners, patients can achieve a properly aligned bite, improved function, and enhanced aesthetics.
Benefits of Orthodontics
Improved Oral Health
Properly aligned teeth are easier to clean, reducing the risk of cavities, gum disease, and enamel wear.
Enhanced Aesthetics & Confidence
A straight smile can boost your self-esteem and make you feel more confident in social and professional settings.
Better Bite Functionality
Orthodontic treatment corrects bite issues such as overbites, underbites, and crossbites, improving chewing efficiency.
Reduced Risk of Tooth Damage
Misaligned teeth are more prone to chipping and wear. Orthodontics helps protect them from unnecessary strain.
Improved Speech
Some orthodontic problems can affect speech clarity, and correcting these misalignments can lead to clearer speech.
Types of Braces
At Gables iSmile and Miami iSmile, we offer a variety of braces to meet our patients’ unique needs. Depending on your preference, lifestyle, and budget, our orthodontic team will recommend the best option for you.
1. Traditional Metal Braces
These are the most common types of braces, made of high-quality stainless steel brackets and wires that gradually shift teeth into the desired position. Modern metal braces are smaller and more comfortable than ever before, making them a reliable and cost-effective option for all ages.
Ceramic braces function like traditional metal braces but use tooth-colored or clear brackets that blend with your natural teeth. This makes them a more discreet option for those who want a less noticeable treatment.
3. Self-Ligating Braces
Self-ligating braces use a special clip instead of elastic bands to hold the archwire in place. This allows for smoother tooth movement, fewer adjustments, and often shorter treatment times compared to traditional braces.
Why Do You Need Braces?
Braces aren’t just for aesthetic improvements—they are crucial in maintaining oral health. You may need braces if you have:
- Crooked or Crowded Teeth – Misaligned teeth can make cleaning difficult, increasing the risk of cavities and gum disease.Crooked or Crowded Teeth
- Overbite, Underbite, or Crossbite – These bite problems can cause uneven wear on teeth and jaw pain over time.
- Gaps Between Teeth – Orthodontic treatment can close unwanted spaces, enhancing both function and appearance.
- Jaw Pain or TMJ Issues – Misalignment can contribute to jaw discomfort and headaches.
