Orthodontics
Kendall iSmile believes that a beautiful, healthy smile starts with proper alignment. Whether you’re looking to straighten your teeth for cosmetic reasons or to improve your oral health, our orthodontic treatments can help you achieve your desired results.
What is Orthodontics?
Orthodontics is a specialized branch of dentistry that focuses on diagnosing, preventing, and treating misaligned teeth and jaw irregularities. Through orthodontic treatments, such as braces, patients can achieve a properly aligned bite, improved function, and enhanced aesthetics.
Benefits of Orthodontics
Improved Oral Hygiene
Aligned teeth are easier to clean, helping prevent cavities, gum disease, and enamel damage.
Enhanced Appearance & Confidence
A straight smile looks great and boosts self-esteem in social and professional settings.
Corrected Bite Issues
Orthodontic treatment addresses overbites, underbites, and crossbites, improving jaw alignment and chewing function.
Protection Against Tooth Damage
Straightening teeth reduces the risk of chips, fractures, and uneven wear caused by misalignment.
Improved Speech Clarity
Fixing alignment issues can enhance pronunciation and overall speech quality.
Types of Braces
Kendall iSmile offers a variety of braces to meet our patients’ unique needs. Depending on your preference, lifestyle, and budget, our orthodontic team will recommend the best option.
1. Traditional Metal Braces
These are the most common types of braces, made of high-quality stainless steel brackets and wires that gradually shift teeth into the desired position. Modern metal braces are smaller and more comfortable than ever before, making them a reliable and cost-effective option for all ages.
Ceramic braces function like traditional metal braces but use tooth-colored or clear brackets that blend with your natural teeth. This makes them a more discreet option for those who want a less noticeable treatment.
3. Self-Ligating Braces
Self-ligating braces use a special clip instead of elastic bands to hold the archwire in place. This allows for smoother tooth movement, fewer adjustments, and often shorter treatment times compared to traditional braces.
Why Do You Need Braces?
- Crooked or Crowded Teeth – Misaligned teeth can make cleaning difficult, increasing the risk of cavities and gum disease.
- Overbite, Underbite, or Crossbite – These bite problems can cause uneven wear on teeth and jaw pain over time.
- Gaps Between Teeth – Orthodontic treatment can close unwanted spaces, enhancing both function and appearance.
- Jaw Pain or TMJ Issues – Misalignment can contribute to jaw discomfort and headaches.
